22/05/2026The luggage volume information of the 20 best-selling models in the January-April period of 2026 was prepared with the data on the brand’s official pages.
The results are remarkable:
- Largest volume car: KG Mobility Torres: 839 lt
- Smallest volume car: Opel Corsa: 309 lt
If the trunk volume index of hatchbacks is taken as 100:
- Cross Over SUV (CUV): 120
- SEDAN: 141
- SUV: 167
✅ The perception of the CUV is often positioned as a “bigger and more useful vehicle”.
However, on the trunk volume side, sedans are well ahead of CUVs
Some highlights of the body groups:
Hatchback:
✅BEST-SELLING Renault Clio ✅offers a compact life by providing the HIGHEST luggage volume.
Cross Over SUV:
✅BEST-SELLING Toyota C-HR ❌offers the LOWEST luggage volume.
SEDAN:
✅BEST-SELLING Toyota Corolla ❌offers the LOWEST trunk volume.
SUV:
✅BEST-SELLING Electric domestic TOGG T10 X ❌offers the lowest luggage volume.
✅KG Mobility Torres offers by far the LARGEST trunk volume of any SUV. 43% above above the SUV trunk average
⚠️Analysis of the Agency
- The luggage volume criterion has an important place in the purchasing decision choice for small bodies (Hatchback). In other body groups, luggage volume is not included much in the purchase decision formula…
- The difference in luggage volume between models in CUVs and Sedans is not much, while the difference increases in Hatchbacks, the biggest difference is in SUVs: 90% (T10X: 441 lt, Torres: 839 lt)
When the vehicle volume grows, design games create volumetric differences.
- For SUVs and CUVs, the luggage volume is officially calculated up to the level of the rear seat backrest. However, in practice, the luggage space can often be utilized up to the roof, so these body types offer additional flexibility of use compared to sedans.
🆘Note:
If the use of the luggage up to the ceiling is done in a way that obstructs the driver’s view or impairs driving safety, it is considered a violation within the scope of Article 65/1-j of the Highway Traffic Law; The penalty for 2026 is 2,600 TL.
