🚗📊 Number of Driver’s Licenses, Number of Vehicles and Population Relationship 🔊
25/10/2025Fewer is Better…? ” The number of cars sold in Turkey is not an indicator of “success” alone as it is thought. Even fewer sales for most dealer networks; It means a more profitable, more enjoyable and more manageable business model.
📊 The Parameter Behind Sales When we examine the data of the last 10 years in the same table, we see a striking harmony between automobile sales and Gross Domestic Product (GDP)! See Supplementary Table.
🔮 Automobile Sales Projections for 2025: Actual: 654,513 units (January-August)
Forecast #1 (with 2024 GDP and 2024 vehicle sales harmonization data): 1,132,000 units. Forecast #2 (Seasonally adjusted): 981,000 units. Forecast #3 (Seasonality): 1,067,000 units.
📈 Automobile Sales Forecast for 2026: According to the GDP figures in the Medium-Term Program (2026-2028) announced by the Presidency of Strategy and Budget of the Republic of Turkey last week:
➡️ 2026 Automobile Sales Forecast (with 2024 GDP and vehicle sales match data): 1,196,000 units
🌟 “Positive Signals” given by the increasing number of cars for the future of the sector: * Rejuvenated car park. * Increase in the rate of vehicles under warranty. * Increase in the number of vehicles per 1000 people.
⚠️ The “CHALLENGES” posed by the increasing number of automobiles for the future of the sector:
➡️ Rising costs, expenses, and competition are negatively impacting dealer networks and distributors’ bottom lines.
➡️ Although the vehicle supply supports offered by foreign centers for the domestic market give a breath of fresh air in the short term (market share score happiness), the first victims to increase profitability in the long term are education budgets and human resources.
✅ Final Word: “Fewer is Better” More sales don’t always mean more profit. The common opinion of the dealers is clear: Less but healthier sales are much more sustainable in the long run.
