🚗 A Transformation Story in the Turkish Automotive Industry…
06/11/2025Two critical questions💬:
1) How many electric vehicles is the current charging infrastructure sufficient for?
2) How should priorities be determined on a provincial basis?
#1 – Capacity Image 📊
> In fact, there is enough infrastructure for about ~800,000 electric vehicles. – Potential of Existing Infrastructure: ~105 million hours of charging – Current Vehicles Requirement: ~36 million hours of charging
> Average: ~9 vehicles drop into 1 charging socket. ~280,000 electric vehicles (end of July) ~33,000 charging sockets (≈ 19k AC, ≈ 14k DC).
Note: These balances are disrupted during extraordinary intensities such as holidays. For advice and suggestions for this situation, see the presentation. 📝
#2 – Where and What to Do? (according to the number of vehicles per charging socket)
📌 > Infrastructure should be supported (the number of vehicles per charging socket is HIGHER than the average of Turkey): 45 provinces
> Sales should be encouraged (the number of vehicles per charging socket is LOWER than the average of Turkey): 35 provinces
> Summary of major cities: Istanbul: 7 | Antalya: 7 | Bursa: 7, Ankara: 10 ⚠️ | Izmir: 13 ⚠️ (Pay attention to infrastructure)
> 5 provinces that need urgent infrastructure strengthened: Tokat (90), Hatay (47), Kahramanmaraş (33), Kırşehir (26), Kilis (25)
> 3 provinces eligible for sales incentives: Gümüşhane (3), Batman (3), Hakkari (2) 🔋Let’s strengthen the infrastructure a little more, let’s encourage sales in a smart way!
If there is data, there is strategy🤝
